EH: a pineapple top note kick like creed's aventus

Updated: Jan 24, 2021

I like #Creed's Aventus, especially the opening. I just hoped for more lasting power in the top and heart for the characteristic Pineapple and Apple opening. It's the bite i like the most in that composition and sets it apart from the rest. For me the dry down becomes fast a more traditional soapy scent. So i tried to catch the top opening like Aventus, and give it some longevity all through the dry down in the base. It worked! Give it a try, cut down on the allyl amyl glycolate and

ethyl butyrate if you want to work more towards the soapiness. Have fun!

A nice twist to this formula comes from Derrell Weaver. He wrote me:

"I did try your formula for the pineapple Aventus. Your formula is fantastic to say the least my friend.

I took your advice and cut down on the Ethyl Butyrate from 11 drops to 3 and the Jasmine EO from 8 drops to 4.

For the seek of not having Ambergris, true Ambergris (unaffordable) I use Grisalva in it’s place and increased it to from 8 to 11 and increased Muscenone 9 to 11. Diluted it down to 25% added to alcohol. My wife loves it and so do I.

I may bump everything up 2 drops each to help with longevity. Projection is perfect for me, I don’t go overboard with high projection fragrances, I like arms length not grocery store isle length. I was able to make your Creed’s Accord mix (with Grisalva, not ambergris) and it smells wonderful.

I’m willing to say you may have hit the nail right on the head with it."
